On this day, 5 years ago, I walked away from employee life.

When you work for a Company of One, you miss out on the “big company” perks:
- The corporate box invite
- The office Christmas party
- The great people (and even? The not-so-great-people!)
- The water-cooler banter
- The PD budget.

BUT:

If you miss the perks?

Create them.

🏏 Organise your own Christmas party (my friend Kate Peardon hosted a wonderful Founders lunch last December)
🏏 Run events for your clients
🏏 Audio note your peers via WhatsApp to exchange ideas
🏏 Dive into masterminds/retreats
🏏 Jump into virtual coworking calls
🏏 Set aside a % of your revenue for professional development
🏏 Host your own corporate box experience (this is the pic! Oh yeah! And I didn’t have to declare it anywhere, either (except, maybe to the ATO 😅).

Just because you run a business independently, doesn’t mean you have to do everything solo.
